The Wilson Avenue Street Lamp Project

On July 22, 1998 a neighborhood meeting was held to propose installing decorative street lamps on the block between 17th East and 18th East.  Each of the 24 houses on the block was asked to contribute $200 to the project, and the City of Salt Lake would kick in matching funds.  7 poles were ultimately installed at a total cost of $9695.00, bringing beauty and safety to the neighborhood.

Over the years, neighbors have chipped in to maintain the lights and outfit them with holiday accents for fall and winter.  Many people have assisted by serving on a lighting committee in order to manage the funds and coordinate activity.

Currently your neighbors Gerry and Chris are serving as the committee.  This web site is to provide  current and historical information.
